Not as much as it needs the non-US bumpers (Sorry Torch, but you are wrong:

).

I’d rather have the 1.0 EB. 125-140 horses should be plenty, especially considering the weight savings.

Absolutely agree, plus you can’t beat that 3-cylinder sound!

Came here to say that.

The 3 cylinder would be awesome in a small car, but I’m not sure about the sound.

I suspect there is no way to shoehorn an Audi 5 pot in there, but the sound would be epic if you could.

Bigger engine needs a bigger transmission, cooling system, differential/axles, heavier suspension, chassis bracing,etc...

Oink.

It would certainly not be more unreliable.

Nah. AW11s under 2500 lbs need 4A blacktops.

Wonder if an s2k drivetrain would fit.

Drive the old B series before you swap it out for a modern CUV engine. Old engines have soul.

This has been on my local craigslist for a while now...

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/cto/569475…

170hp Chevy V6, mid-90s Camaro powertrain.

A little harder to do with this V6 than a Buick 3800, but still anything is possible. I would rather go with a newer engine in this family... 3.9L, 240hp/tq, and another 25ish pounds lighter. What did they have stock, though? Like 90hp?

Yeah something pre-industrial like that. I don’t subscribe to “slow car fast”, and since it’s so easy to get decent power out of any powerplant these days I see no reason not to throw 300hp at it.
